EVALUATION Q6: What have you learnt technologies from the process of the constructing this product?

To create my magazine I had to use many technologies. One of these technologies was blogger. Blogger is a blogging software where I created my own blog to update and post my progress on my magazine. Blogger allowed me to keep track of all of my task and enabled me to see how my magazine has developed and changed. Using blogger encouraged me to become more organised with the things all the tasks I do. This was beneficial because now I am able to plan, organise and embed my work more effectively.Another technology that I was introduced to was Prezi. Prezi is a software where I can plan and create a presentation. This software is easy to use and very interactive when presenting. I used prezi to create my pitch for my magazine and when planning my evaluation as it is very easy to edit, save work and present later on.I found prezi a good software to use as it makes presentations more appealing compared to other presentation software such as google slides and such. Using prezi helped me to work on my presentation skills and I found this very important when making my magazine. One reason why is because I learnt that the way things look to the reader and audience is important. Because I found the use of google slides and other software boring I realised that people are more likely to be engaged in your work if it is more eye-catching and appealing. Prezi allows this to happen through the moving background and interactive presentations.

To create my magazine I had to use two design softwares, photoshop and indesign. These two applications allowed me to create my magazine from scratch. I used Indesign to create my double page spread and my contents page. I created these two parts in indesign because indesign allows more manipulations when it comes to editing the writing in the actual magazine. InDesign is mostly focused on text editing meanwhile PhotoShop is all about editing images. To create my front cover I had to use PhotoShop. Photoshop is a very well-known common editorial software. This software allowed me to input my front cover image and edit it in the way I wanted. It allowed me to change and play around the fonts and sizes to find the perfect  layout for my magazine. With the use of these tools I was able to develop my editorial skills. I find this important since presentation of the magazine needs to be flawless in order for the reader to be interested in it. I learnt how to create an appealing and creative piece of work.

Photoshop and Indesign allowed me to be more creative work and successfully assemble my magazine. To take the images for my front cover, contents page and double page spread I had to make the use of the college studio and DSLR camera.I used the Nikon D7200 in additon to otheer photographic equipment such as softboxes to make sure my front cover image and te image in the contents page is of top quailty. Because I am a photography student, using the studio to take my pictures allowed me to practice my skills in a different situation and context. It also helped to develop my planning skills in terms of photography as I had to plan what my model will look like and what I want the outcome to be.
