EVALUATION Q4: Who would be the audiance for your media product?

For my media product my audience would be teenagers and young adults if both genders from the ages of 16-25. I chose to focus on this audience as I think that they are the people who would still be interested in keeping up to date with their favourite bands and latest information. Because I am also a part of this age group I tried to relate my audience to myself as I not as often but still do buy music magazines and keep up with the news from my favourite magazines. Even if I don't buy physical copies of the magazine I tend to look at twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages of magazines to see what kind of articles will be featured in the future issues and if they are worth buying. Because my audience are young people who tend to be less confident with themselves and their skills, I decided to appeal to them by featuring an artist that is also in that age group. By doing this I wanted to send a secret message to the audience to be more confident and try to pursue their ambitions as that is what the artist in my DPS has done therefore, I imagined that the audience would find her inspirational. Because the age group is still quite young I added posters into the magazine as they may be interested in putting up posters on their walls. I also featured job opportunities to give the audience a chance to look for a job themselves and encourage their independence.


These are examples of my audience.
My audience may have hobbies such as : listening to music, playing instruments and attending concerts. They also live in the main cities in the UK, such as London or Manchester which will gives them a bigger access to live music venues. I made sure that my magazine somehow relates or targets to my audience as they are the most important aspect of any magazine. My audience may also be interested in being up to date with the newest magazine issues and any articles or work done with their favourite artists. Because of this, they can use social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or the magazine website so that they can be always informed with any latest information. This makes the magazine have more attention from the viewers as the magazine becomes one of their main sources for music updates.
